I finally got around to scanning ,uploading, and posting this article that appeared in the Mountain Xpress a few months back. It was a reprint of this online review of our July 2 show at Firestorm Cafe. Pretty stoked to be in print and part of our great, free local newspaper.

TELETHON & Eleven &the Falcons: This Saturday at Firestorm Cafe

That’s right, our good friends TELETHON from Orlando, FL are on tour and they’re stopping in Asheville, NC on Sept. 4 to unleash hell on WNC at Firestorm Cafe. This one’s gonna be unstoppable. Doors at 7, the Falcons at 8, and TELETHON at 9. Oh, and it’s FREE and open to ALL AGES. See you there.

Twitterview & Show

If you missed our Twitterview with Mountain Xpress this past Saturday, you can see the full recap here. It was an interesting experience (our first interview!) and very difficult for three people to respond to two different Twitter accounts and answer sometimes complex questions in 140 character chunks. But we think it turned out pretty good and we had a lot of fun. We look forward to future installments of the series. And if you’re gonna be in Asheville this Sunday (8/22), we’ve got a show at BoBo Gallery downtown. By The Balls (a ukulele band!) will be opening and the show starts at 9pm. It’s all ages and FREE so check it out!

Review on Some Velvet Blog

Bruce over at Some Velvet Blog stumbled across our band and album and decided to post about both in an incredibly generous way. Or maybe we really are that good. At any rate, check out his fantastic music blog, chronicling audio both old and new. And we love the blog name, as it references Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra’s trippy duet “Some Velvet Morning” which we’ve recorded with our side-project, Baby Graves.

Twitterview

In between our Firestorm show this Friday and our Root Bar show this Sunday, we will be doing a Twitterview with Alli Marshall of Mountain Xpress. What’s a Twitterview? Well, as far as we know, it’s only happened once before (last week with @ukulelerockstar of Asheville’s The Mad Tea Party) and involves a live streaming interview between two Twitter accounts. Ours (@ElevenFalcons) and @MXNews will be conversing this Saturday (8/14) at noon. Follow both accounts for the interview and send us questions during to have them answered live across the web!

PS. Looks like Mountain Xpress didn’t invent it and I didn’t invent the term. Oh well, I’m gonna keep saying we did.

Upcoming Shows

You can always hit the SHOWS tab up top to see all of our upcoming shows, but we also like to cram it down your throats and display some of our awesome flyers. I hand-drew (yeah, people still use their hands) the one above for our Friday the 13th show at Firestorm Cafe & Bookstore. Local electronic musician dep will be opening. And two days after that, we’ll be playing at Root Bar in East Asheville with The Maudlin Frogs (featuring Mark from Open Windows), Amy White (who opened for us at Firestorm last month), and Cardinal Deathmatch.
